Website Redesign for a Commercial Furniture & Fit-Out Brand
Watson Commercial
Role
Website Designer
Industry
Commercial Furniture / Workplace Interiors / Fit-Out Solutions
Scope
Full website redesign, visual direction, information structure, service pages, project sections, responsive layouts, and interaction direction.
Focus
Service clarity, project storytelling, product discovery, trust signals, navigation, and enquiry flow.

Starting Point
Watson Commercial is an Australian commercial furniture and fit-out company working across workplaces, education, healthcare, aged care, hospitality, and community spaces.
I redesigned the full website experience, including the homepage, services, products, projects, contact flow, responsive layouts, and interaction direction.
The old website had useful information, but the experience felt dated, text-heavy, and hard to move through. The redesign gave the business clearer positioning, stronger product discovery, and a more confident path to enquiry.
Why The Website Needed A Redesign
The redesign was shaped around a few clear issues:
- Weak first impression
- Poor content hierarchy
- Unclear product browsing
- Scattered service information
- Limited project storytelling
- Enquiry paths that did not feel strong enough

The goal was to make the website feel less like a static supplier page and more like a commercial interiors partner with a clear process, product range, and delivery capability.
Website Strategy
I restructured the site around how clients evaluate a commercial fit-out partner. They need to understand what the company does, where it works, what products it offers, which sectors it serves, and whether the team can deliver reliably.
The new structure gives users clearer paths through services, product collections, sectors, projects, testimonials, and enquiry.

Visual Direction
The redesign needed to feel clean, professional, and more aligned with commercial interiors.
I used stronger spacing, clearer typography, larger imagery, and calmer section pacing so the website felt more current without becoming cold or over-designed.

Product & Collection Structure
A major part of the redesign was making the product side easier to browse.
The product experience was structured around collections, sectors, brands, product types, and lead times, so users could filter and explore the catalogue with less friction. This helped turn a large product range into something easier to scan and understand.

Services
The services page was shaped around the full project lifecycle: Design, Manufacture, Installation, and Project Management.
Each service explains what the team handles and how that supports a smoother commercial fit-out, from early planning to final handover.
1. Educational and University Furniture
2. Office Fitouts and Design
3. Healthcare and Hospitality Fitouts
4. Custom Commercial Furniture
Website Experience
The redesign focused on making the site easier to move through:
- Clearer navigation
- Stronger homepage structure
- Better product discovery
- Sector-based browsing
- More useful service content
- Stronger testimonials
- Cleaner enquiry flow
- Improved responsive layouts
Website Navigation
The main navigation opens into a mega-menu structured around Collections, Sector, Brand, Type, and Lead Times, letting visitors jump straight to the exact product category they need.

Products Page
The Products page carries the same filter logic into a browsable catalogue, with quick sub-category pills (Task Chairs, Ergonomic Chairs, Drafting Chairs, and more) above a clean product grid.
Add to Cart
Each product page supports quantity, an Add to Quote action, a running quote drawer, and a dedicated My Quote page that flows into a short enquiry form — turning product browsing into a straightforward B2B quote request.
Community
A community-focused sector page covers furniture solutions for public spaces — libraries, sports facilities, and civic buildings — designed for durability, flexibility, and accessibility, including a case example for the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre.
Outcome
The redesign gave Watson Commercial a clearer digital presence across the full website.
The new experience makes the business easier to understand, gives more structure to the product catalogue, presents services with more confidence, and creates a cleaner path from browsing to enquiry.
Reflection
This project was about turning a dated, content-heavy website into a clearer commercial experience.
The main work was structure: making the product range easier to browse, the services easier to understand, and the business easier to trust.
